The recent Masonic Family Expo hosted by the United Grand Lodge of Queensland allowed all Masonic bodies in the state to showcase their Orders and provide information to Freemasons within the jurisdiction and also the general public. The following is an After Action Report from Rt Wor Bro Colin Boughton VIIĀ°.
The UGLQ sponsored Masonic Expo was held on 6 September, 2014 at the iconic Masonic Memorial Centre in Ann Steet Brisbane.
The structure of the Coordination Committee, its several meetings and the results from those meetings helped to ensure a successful outcome.
The venue, space allocation, support and facilities were first class.
The Expo brought together all of the Orders comprising the wider Masonic family in Queensland outside the ceremonial bounds of formalised meetings enabling us to exchange views in an informal and relaxed manner.
Resulting from this Expo we received one application to join and nemerous expressions of interest from Masons plus a number of genuine enquiries from the public. However, for the latter, a Craft booth to refer them to might have produced a different outcome.
On behalf of this Society, plesae accept our thanks for a well prepared and well organised event.
