No. 9 Installation 2010

On Saturday 23 January Queensland Sovereign Rose Croix Chapter No 9 held its annual installation meeting which also incorporated the Perfection of Bro. Colin Edgar of Celtic of Ithaca Lodge.

The Perfection Ceremony was conducted first with the outgoing team led by Most Wise Sovereign Ill∴Bro. Clifton Isted 30° running proceedings.

The Installation Ceremony followed with the Deputy for the Province of South Queensland Metropolitan, Supreme Council for Scotland, V∴Ill∴Bro. Allan Verran 33° installing Ill∴Bro. Duncan McGregor 30° as Most Wise Sovereign for 2010.

It was a most successful meeting with many visitors, including a substantial contingent from the Australian Constitution.

Final numbers were 24 members and 35 visitors.

Of this number we were particularly honoured to have 8 members of the 33rd Degree present - 4 from our own Scottish Constitution (Red Caps) and 4 from the Australian Constitution (Green Caps).

No. 9 Excellent and Perfect Companions Sel Rossow and David Chapman

On Wednesday 28 October we Perfected Sel Rossow and David Chapman. Thank you to all who took part in a well run ceremony, especially Ex and Perf Comp Robert Huis from our sister Sovereign Chapter Euroggera No 153. Robert did a great job as Conductor. As usual we were honoured to have present the Deputy for the Province, V Ill Bro Allan Verran 33°.

No. 9 Excellent and Perfect Companion Rodger Klopp

On Wednesday 22 July we Perfected a new Rose Croix Knight, Rodger Klopp. As with our candidate from our April meeting, Rodger is a member of Yeronga Lodge No 246 and Stephens RAC No 78. Thank you to all who took part in a great ceremony. As usual we were honoured to have present the Deputy for the Province, V Ill Bro Allan Verran 33°.

No. 9 Excellent and Perfect Companion Malcolm Teasdale

On Wednesday 22 April we Perfected a new Rose Croix Knight, Malcolm Teasdale. Malcolm is a member of Yeronga Lodge No 246. It was a very enjoyable ceremony and Malcolm proved to be an excellent candidate.

No. 9 Installation 2009 and 130th Anniversary meeting

On Saturday 31 January Queensland Sovereign Rose Croix Chapter No 9 held a meeting which was significant for 3 reasons.

Firstly we welcomed a new member, Alexander 'Jack' Edwards and carried out a Ceremony of Perfection on him.

Secondly we held our annual Installation Ceremony where Illustrious Bro Clifton Isted 30° was installed as Most Wise Sovereign.

An thirdly, we celebrated No 9's 130th anniversary. Our Sovereign Chapter was consecrated on 31 January 1879 and has met continuously ever since. It is No 9 on the Roll of the Supreme Council for Scotland and the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere. Attrition of other old chapters probably means we are higher on the roll than No 9 however.

It was a very enjoyable afternoon and evening and we welcomed a number of distinguished visitors including Most Powerful Sovereign Grand Commander Jim Kelly 33° and Most Illustrious Bro Rod Powell 33°  both from the Supreme Council for Australia. They were welcomed by V Ill Bro Allan Verran 33° Deputy for the Province of South Queensland Metropolitan, Supreme Council for Scotland.

No. 9 Newly Perfected Companion

Last night Queensland Sovereign Rose Croix Chapter No 9 welcomed its newest member when it Perfected Bro Mitchell Moore of Fenwick Lodge. Mitch has had a long interest in joining the Ancient and Accepted Rite and proved to be a great candidate. Congratulations Mitch, it's great to have you as one of us officially.

No.9 July 2008 Meeting

Queensland Sovereign Rose Croix Chapter No 9  will hold its Winter Quarterly meeting on Wednesday 23rd July at the Ann Street Masonic Memorial Centre. The MWS and his officers will enter at 7.30pm. The work will be to perfect Bro.Mitch Moore from Fenwick Lodge No. 68. Bro. Mitch is already well known to members of Queensland No. 9 as he has been our janitor for the last two years.
